I am an ECBiian

Life of an Ecbiian:
I am an ecbiian, I want to describe life of an Ecbiian. Plight of being an Ecbiian. It’s I think is the true thing to write. I am thinking about parallel life. It is just too far from being. Wasting time, wasting time, just wasting time, it’s ridiculous. I wish I could change this.

Din bhar kaam nahin aaram, mil jaye aisi tarqeeb, mil jaaye khushi mit jaaye har ghum.

Lets try to make myself busy.
I have got feb, march, april. I wanted to prove my self. I wanted to go to some IITs in techfest. I tried to make an add on for firefox. It is a long story. I’ll tell you in short. The last date was 18th Jan, and I started to work on it on 10th Jan, once I got involved in it, I started loving working on it. Then came the twist, on 16th Jan, in six days I really learnt a lot about XUL, XML and JavaScript, but still I was not comfortable with DOM parsing and API so I was so frustrated that I couldn’t know what to do. Also, one thing I forgot to share with you was, I worked on add on in those six days almost 24 hrs from morning 8 in college to 5 pm in the evening, just reading tutorials and watching various scripts and trying to relate all the stuff. At 5pm when computer labs were shut I came back to hostel, putting all that stuff in pen drive. After coming hostel I used to look into the stuff I took with me. In the mean while I and Anirudh took permission from college to stay back in college in night to work on addons. So I used to go back college at about 8.30 pm in night to work on addon. We used to stay back in college till 6 a.m. in morning and then coming back to hostel having a sleep for 1 hour and going back to college at 8 a.m. But here came the twist in story. So on 16th I got a surprise news that last date had been extended to 5th Feb. I felt so relaxed and was thinking that now I had got a chance to get some rank as by the time I was getting the concept of making addons. On 18th , I think the internet in college got dumped. And it was the day when I got another surprise. But this time it wasn’t any more pleasant. I was thinking that it will be made right within a day or two. When I heard the fact that internet will be off till 3rd Feb , I thought it as just another rumor. But after 5 long days I realized that the rumor was just right. This is I think the height of bad luck, I can say. I tried to work on addon going to any cyber café, but cyber cafés are one of the worst places to work in. I can never work in an environment like that. Also I tried to access internet going to some other hostel as we don’t have internet in our hostel. But it also didn’t work as I need to sit for quite long hours, so I didn’t find it feasible staying there for so long disturbing others. I waited till 3rd Feb, and its 5th Feb today but internet problem has not been resolved yet. I don’t want to blame anybody for any odd thing in my life. I am the sole responsible for each and every worst thing happening in my life. Because I can see that each and every thing is working in order to make me succeed, its just me who is not working towards the right direction.

Now I would like to share a thing with you. What I really want to get from life during these years of engineering. Like in the end of fourth year what will be there which will please me. The one thing that come in my mind is knowledge. I want to have knowledge of C, C++, JAVA, then .NET, PHP, MYSQL, AJAX, RUBY on Rails, then comes Linux I want to be able to hack linux kernel, work on at least 20 to 30 open source projects, want to be contributor for open source, taking Sakshama, the annual techfest to the best level, summer of code, code jam, then techkriti, I want to win at Techkriti, I want to win at least first prize in techkriti, then my personal coding projects I want to make social news site, make it functional and then most successful social networking site, that also during my college days, then to get my business proposal selected in at least one big entrepreneurship event, by the college period I want my company SAARANG get establish as I don’t want to work for any other company after graduation I want to startup a venture, also I want to study in MIT, so I will taking decision on that some time after. Also I want to take vibrant it to the best possible level. I want to be able to take seminars, workshops for other students, to be able to take workshops on open source. It is a dream, I would like to make it reality. Make vibrant it a society having active groups.

Lets do something under vibrant it. Something very visual. Something that should make vibrations every where. It should be like that, working on some project, All together, A project, which should make vibrations every where.
I am not getting should I go for techkriti or not. Frankly speaking, even I am in fourth semester but I don’t have enough knowledge to take part even in a single event there, really IITs are too good.

I am listening to a very very beautiful ghazal by Ghulam ali, and I want to dedicate this post to this ghazal। The ghazal starts with a 'sher' which goes like, I don't remember how many times i have listened this ghazal but still each time i listen to this, it gives me a new meaning. This is the beauty of ghazals, you can get a new meaning every time you listen. The english translation is impossible, attempting that will be like killing the ghazal। What I could understand from this line is "what had happened to me", Then ghulam ali sahab takes us to some other place by just his voice, amazing.

How Osho and Open Source are connected?

In the deepest layer of mine there exist a thought that Osho and Open Source are inter related, once my younger sister asked me what is Open Source and why I am so crazy about it? As Osho's ideology inhibit in all of us in our family, to explain her what exactly Open Source is, I told her, Open Source is like Osho, when we talk about Open source we certainly mean no Microsoft, similarly when we talk about Osho we certainly mean not the trivial way of thinking. I don't know if I can justify this thought by giving some equations, but certainly there is some connection. My heart says this. Open Source is a movement, Osho is a movement and both are related to make life better, think better, think bigger, respect individuality. The biggest connection I find between Open Source and Osho is the importance both to freedom. Open source is all about freedom, free to share, freedom to choose, freedom to modify, Open source talks about freedom of every type so as Osho talks about freedom,...
